Personal and Public

The fragrance of words, like scent from a perfumer's hands,
The fragrance of rhymes comes from their hidden flowers.

This incense carried by the breeze cannot by fire be burnt,
It has a purpose unveiled, catches the eye its brightness.

From a sheikh whose history is glorious, his views distinguished,
Inspired by days, inspired by their lessons.

A leader never goes astray, knows his way,
His house enjoys fortune, its fruits blossom.

We share understanding, days and events,
Days we shared from their early dawn.

We share a home of glory and distinction,
Built my Zayed, my sustenance.

And ever we share only goodness, never will change,
Never will change it the good or the bad.

And we share affection, personal and public,
In our hearts farsighted.

And between he and I, candour that has no veil,
And from a glance know its meaning.

Between us a pledge of brotherhood and respect,
The respect of one who would give his life for the other.

Between he and I never came malice,
A life bright, as the morning sun.

Oh if he only knew the affection for him, the esteem,
In hearts, its ocean so deep.

Our thanks, bu Khalid, for the beautiful rhymes,
And for the congratulations, smiling their mouths.

Ahmed, indeed your son, follows the path of the free,
You are his uncles, people of high esteem.

And whoever shares their bloodline,
With Zayed shall always take initiative.

Of course he is born of two houses of generosity,
All goodness in him, he prevailed through all trials.

Welcome first and last, you are held in great esteem,
In the eyes of one who knows you well.
