My Burden has Returned
I am revisited by my burden once again,
With it, my tears flow to sooth my grief.
Throwing her dart, she aimed and captured,
A helpless soul, who somehow found cure in her poison.
With no warning, nor a chance to escape,
She shot me with a glare intended to burn.
That glare turned my dreams to ashes,
And caused my hopes to crash.
If my misery was witnessed by any sane being,
They'd think that I was cursed with a binding spell.
As I battled through sleepless nights,
Her darts aimed relentlessly at the core of my being.
She had captured my soul, and invited me to love her,
Yet love's promise she intentionally broke.
Her every wish was granted,
Every word obeyed.
With the spell that she cast, she achieved her desire,
As pearls within their shells are jewels so cherished.
Just to be certain 'though, may I ask:
Has this spell on me broken; am I cured?
