* I Saw a Star *

I Saw a Star

A lonely star I once beheld from afar,
A waking star, one of many upon which we ponder.

It fell from space, perhaps from another universe,
Our own space it invaded, through other constellations.

I shivered at her sight, engulfed with tremendous joy,
My heart quivered with love, and my eyes shed many tears.

She left me, as she did, I was distressed,
Shaken, confused, she had destroyed my steady gait.

Attraction exists within deep marshy lands,
And the stormy sea pulls down the greatest ships.

As I ask, and wonder, and beg in vain,
When her absence I felt, her loss was my guide.

Such an exceptional being, I've never met before,
A star among planets, her beauty shines on.

O love's branches and jasmine so fragrant,
Out of deep deserts, you scent precedes.

You feed my love with unbearable hope,
You have been the spring of my affections for so long.

From you, my love I cannot bear discontentment.
My infatuation has driven me insane.

Your captivating eyes pierced through my soul,
It destroyed my ambitions, yet I was too weak to leave.

When all are asleep, I lay awake,
Haunted by your thoughts, yet feeling at peace.

Your absence stole my love and with it hope vanished,
My passion for you burns strongly within.

Her figure so slender is so enticing,
And down her slim shoulders, cascades her hair.

She is a Gazelle, raised in the midst of plain sand,
In meadows so bright, yet unknown to hunters.

I look to the skies, and try to dream of you,
In any way possible, even if my life I'd give.

All I ask of you, if any hope remains,
Is to answer me please, and heal my pain.
