Akhtar Raza Saleemi   is a Pakistani poet.  He considered one of the best and popular modern Urdu poets of the new generation having a different and sound style of writing . He is one of those very few serious and committed poets who have a wide vision of life .He looks not considering poetry as a pastime or a game of words ,on the contrary he takes it as a pivot of his life and soul . His poetry has a thought provoking and a philosophical touch.

Akhtar Raza Saleemi  was born on 16 June 1974, at Kekot, a village of disstt Hari Pur, Khaybar Pakhtoon Khwa. He received his early education from his native village then he went to Karachi where he got his matriculation certificate, after that he settled in Islamabad. He graduated from [[Allama Iqbal Open University]. Now he is working as editor (Urdu) in Pakistan Academy of Letters, Islamabad

• Quaid e aazam literary gold medal for 2009
